Freaklub

After a few rounds at KL’s nightlife scene, we’re getting a little tired and bored of what’s available. Which is why we love new nights! Such as Freaklub, which is held at the just-as-new Cloth & Clef on the trendy street of Changkat Bukit Bintang.

Hosted by DJs RaySoo and Tootekool (real name Sebastian Scholz), Freaklub can best be described as a jamming free-for-all. “Freaklub began as a meeting of things we enjoy and the people we want to support: electronic musicians, acoustic musicians, artists of all sorts and a good party – where everything is possible,” says the hosts. Freaklub actually has its roots in Shanghai where the night first began; having found out that the formula of mixing musicians, artists and clubbers can work (and work well), they’re bringing the Freaklub experience to KL.

While RaySoo is known for his brand of house music and Tootekool for his house and techno roots, the music at Freaklub will be decidedly more flexible. For example, the second edition of the night featured visuals from guest artist Renaz, a saxophonist and electronic music from the two hosts.

Who knows what (or who) Freaklub could whip up in the future?”This is where we want people to get involved, artists to freak us out or musicians who are interested in exploring Freaklub’s music situation.
