Knowledge Base: Cheap drinks!

Every Thursday we'll be running "Knowledge Base" - our nifty initiative to collectively share information about the best deals around town that ease the strain on our pockets amidst prices rising up like morning erections. Harhar. This week let's find the best places to get cheap drinks!

Whether it's a bar, pub, someplace with amazing happy hour rates or some pondok tepi jalan that sells stuff that "fell off a lorry" - let us know what you know so it can be happy times for all :)

My contribution: There's a place in Pandan Indah, Cheras that sells cans of Royal Stout, Guinness & Tiger all for under RM4! I kid you not. Look for Kedai Ubat Seong Onn in Taman Cahaya, Pandan Indah. Seriously.

Imagine this...

A bottle of Smirnoff red and a Jack Daniel. BOTH for less than a hundred.

... PULAU TIOMAN! BEBAS CUKAI all the way!

WIP has a beer buffet every Sat and Sun from 3 - 6pm. i think it is around RM40 bucks and sevenatenine also has one from 5-8pm all weekdays for RM47. not cheap but if you are already going to drink that many, it is just the price of a jug.

I know a gem of a shop. My secret of course. Bacardi, Bacardi limon and Smirnoff at 80-85. Interested? Ask me the right questions k.

Btw, the point is, you gotta search every nook and cranny in KL to get the best priced stuff.

I.e. wholesalers. Mostly spirit and wine wholesalers.

But Tesco has some good priced Dewars and Martini. Once I got a bottle of Finlandia for 85 (lucky maybe)

Keep up the good work KLue.

I hate revealing this! It's my little secret unwinding joint... but in the interest of sharing, okay la.

Canteena Bangsar la dudes! Right next to TSB, a little hole in the wall. Furniture from like the 70s, and crazy old ass music like Desperado and Mustang Sally, loud old men screaming at the TV when Pak Lah comes on, and great food.

Beer? One mug is RM 8! EIGHT! And a pint? RM 15! In overpriced Bangsar, it's a steal. Plus, now that most people go to KL and Hartamas, its easier to find parking.
