Knocking on Hollow Wood

Tuesday, 02/02/10 - 11:27AM Filed in Lifestyle by yangching | Views: 1759 | Comments: 1

The blogosphere is expanding as we speak, with hundreds of aspiring writers seeking to get their voice heard out there. But what separates one blog from another is exactly why we read them. There are many blogs in Malaysia which write about current affairs, politics and religious issues such as warta@maya, which offers opinion rants, but Unscientific Malaysia cuts above the rest with its witty posts and different perspectives.

Backed and maintained by Zurairi Abdul Rahman, Unscientific Malaysia features writings which debate about the silly superstitions that Malaysians heed and questions the basis of these beliefs. Other topics discussed include religion and rock music, ghost stories and people who have been duped by the bomoh, and global warming.

Guest writers are invited to contribute with their take on an interesting issue and polls are run on hot topics, such as the usage of "Allah" by non-Muslims. Grey Yeoh and Bukhari Ramli, who have written on the phenomenon of hempap/tindih , and clairvoyance. Pushing for science and reason, this blog is one to bookmark for its lighthearted, yet pertinent reads. They have a Facebook page and you can follow them on Twitter.

Visit their site to read their articles.
