Mindwatch – The Observer, The Observed
Painter Jeganathan Ramachandram has been with us for a while. Since the start of his artistic career in 1984, Jeganathan has exhibited at places such as the National Art Gallery and Galeri PETRONAS. His work is typically mystical at heart – the artist is an adherent of Vasthu Shastra, a Hindu architectural principle based on classical elements.
Such transcendence can get tiresome. But Mindwatch – a continuation of Jeganathan’s quest to describe how the physical transformation of the modern world has affected the human condition – resonates with a high-science quantum-physics axiom: the act of observation both changes the object being observed, and the observer itself.
