Stellar Night Out Preview

Tuesday, 29/12/09 - 19:43PM Filed in Nightlife by yangching | Views: 3505 | Comments: 0

Stellar Night Out promises glam, but also quality dance music that'll have you crowding the dancefloor of KL Live. The party features three DJs: Axwell, Gabriel and Blink. Axwell, or Axel Hedfors as his mama knows him, is from the land of Ikea - Sweden. Currently sitting pretty at number 14 of the DJ Mag Top 100, he moved up an impressive six spots from last year. It's been well deserved though.

Like many in the industry, Axwell doesn't survive on just being a DJ. The man juggles other roles, like producer, label owner (Axtone) and remixer. He's also pretty well known for having a reputation to mash-up genres and playing everything from disco to indie rock, hip hop and house in a set. His versatility shows in his remixes hotly tipped Aussie band The Temper Trap's hit single "Sweet Disposition", Adele's "Hometown Glory" and Madonna's "Jump", to name just a few.

Proving that he's got an ear for what works with the mass, his track with Max'C entitled "I Found U" made it as far as number 6 on the UK Singles Chart. And to make us love him even more, he even co-wrote and co-produced for the legendary Cyndi Lauper. And then, there are his other projects: as Supermode with Steve Angello (remember "Tell Me Why"?) and as one-third of the Swedish House Mafia, also with Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. Taking into account his portfolio, his projects and festival appearances at Glastonbury and Creamfields - moving up six spots might just be daylight robbery.
