Jeeves

Tuesday, 29/12/09 - 19:00PM Filed in Lifestyle by yangching | Views: 909 | Comments: 0

Posh dry cleaning specialist Jeeves of London has arrived in our humble country. Jeeves is not your average dry cleaner, as they use specialised equipments and machinery imported from Italy and Japan to ensure your laundry stays in perfect condition, especially those who wear a lot of silk, linen and beaded clothing. They have a factory in Puchong, where the magic happens, and the little elves who work there are actually trained in London to deliver efficient service. They provide polishing services for leatherwear as well, and they even tint your old bags (upon request) to give it a new breath of life!

But what puts Jeeves a notch above the others is the chemicals used in their dry cleaning process. Jeeves is the first in the country to use GreenEarth Silicone, which is non-toxic and non-hazardous to the environment, as it is created from natural resources. This is the essential ingredient which cares for your garments as it does not interact with the natural fibres of the cloth, so colours won't fade or run. Also, it's gentle on us, as many complain that dry cleaned clothing sends off a strong chemical odour.

The first outlet was opened in Ampang, and the second one in Bangsar Shopping Centre. Jeeves doesn't look like your ordinary laundrette, it's carpeted and furnished with a plush sofa and walls are covered with large mirrors. The service is unbeatable! Sure, the price may be a little steeper than your average dhobi, but for all it's worth, you're helping Mother Earth.

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
