For those times your backpacking friends pop by KL, you know you want to recommend somewhere convenient and comfortable but affordable. Look no further than BackHome KL.

Launched in July, the backpackers' hostel is situated on Jalan Tun H.S. Lee. While it wins points for being within walking distance to Dataran Merdeka, Petaling Street and Little India, BackHome sports a modern, minimalist look that's simple and fuss-free. "We want to provide an alternative from grimy hostels," says co-owner, Ng Ping Ho.

The best thing about this hostel is its facilities: bunk beds with plush mattresses; air-conditioning; rain shower heads in the bathroom; a courtyard that's part of the common area; a mini library; and WiFi access. With nine rooms altogether, the rates at BackHomeKL range from RM35 - RM90.

BackHome KL is located at 30, Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, 50000 Kuala Lumpur. For enquiries and reservations, dial 03-2078 7188, visit www.hostelworld.com or send e-mail to info@backhome.com.my.
