Luke van Scheppingen recently made a milestone in his career: entering the DJ Mag Top 100 of 2008 at number 46. Luke got his start in the business in 1998 when he released his debut album Pscyhed Up, followed up by Electronic Satisfaction in 2002. He toured extensively to build his name, landing gigs in America, Japan and Ibiza.

But it wasn't until 2003's live mix album, Windmill Skill, that caused people to take notice and dance. Recorded in one take (no edits!), the CD consisted of 35 tracks and was 70 minutes long.

His career has been on a trajectory since. He's worked with the industry's best like Steve Angello, David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso and A-Trak. He hosts a weekly radio show on the French station, Radio FG.. And Luke has started up a hot party night called Super You & Me. Not to forget, he's currently one of the most in-demand DJs in the festival and club circuit … which is why he's coming to Zouk KL!

Contrary to his name, a typical Luke set will be anything but laidback. Expect to hear choice tracks in the vein of his remix of Martin Solveig and Dragonette's “Boys and Girls” as well as MSTRKRFT and John Legend's “Heartbreaker”, which is burning up dancefloors worldwide. Let's not forget that he worked with Diplo on the track “Hey!” which never fails to encourage total madness in clubbers. This is Laidback Luke's debut appearance here so be sure to give him a rousing KL welcome this November.
