PETA's lettuce lady wows crowds at Bukit Bintang
On 2 September, PETA arranged (and when I say arranged, I mean just doing it without consent) to have Ashley Fruno in a lettuce dress in front of Pavilion KL's waterfall.
Looking like Ariel from The Little Mermaid, PETA had this on for a nice 10 minutes before Pavilions' security came down (you can actually see the guards behind Ariel trying to figure out what to do. The guards and PETA people had a medium to loud verbal banter which basically was a "what the heck is this?" thing and a "who the heck do you think you people are?" thing. Naturally, it drew a larger crowd and little miss mermaid here happily parades herself for more shots. I was obliged.

All this commotion and hoo-hah was working towards PETAs' favour, which was to get as many people to see the sign and hopefully convert them into vegetarians.
PETAs' "hide-a-semi-nude-woman-behind-vege" thing isn't new. Two years ago they got Maggie Q to cover her goodies as Asia's sexiest vegetarian. That was done in a traditional method of print and publicity. This however, is more radical and blatant. So we can conclude that PETA is really going for it. I do have to take my hat off to them for doing something so right winged.
