Bittersweet

Fancy those mixed retail shops you see in Sungei Wang Plaza where you can get so many types of clothing items in one shop, but still want a bit of branding? Bittersweet at The Gardens is your answer then. Located on the second floor of this new mall next to Mid Valley Megamall, the store name is made out of blinking lightbox, like a public announcement. Hard to read in a glance, but makes you stop and wait for it to appear. Obviously a lot of thought’s gone into the store’s concept. Its name for instance is a kind of yin-yang proposition. “Bitter” is for the male, represented in the store’s decor by steel, concrete and wood, and “sweet” goes is for the female, represented by the chandeliers, curtains and the graphics. Designer Lestat, who is in charge of advertising and promotion for Bittersweet, elabroates on the concept for Bittersweet. "There's no locked in concept for Bittersweet, its merchandises or the interior design, except that we are environmentally friendly in line with the recycling concept of The Gardens."

Upon entering Bittersweet, it's either you have a niche for the latest look or already know the label is available here, which is what the idea lies on mainly. They bring in exclusive labels from different countries. You can find a massive variety of nifty brands such as Obey and Zoo York from the US of A, new big label Hybrid from Thailand, Hooked from Singapore, RCTV Series, that was shown in KL Fashion Week last year, amongst others. There's also the infamous skinny jeans from Sweden, Cheap Mondays, being sold at around RM300 in limited quantity. Accessories ranges from RM19.90 to RM29.90, tops RM79.90 and above and the jeans from jeans RM169 and above. There are also wicked shoes and bags available.
