KL Tower Indie Fest 2 Preview

Friday, 03/07/09 - 17:27PM Filed in Music by sarah | Views: 3209 | Comments: 0

KL Tower Indie Fest returns—definitely good news for fans of local music. A truly ambitious project, KL Tower Indie Fest 2 sees performances of up to 20 bands and counting!

The launch is on 3 July and admission is free on that day. So yes, even those with tight purse-strings can partake in the day's festivities without a smidgen of guilt. The 3 July showcase has performances by 10 bands—The Lipstik, The Sircurse, The Voks, Pensil, Nrocinu, Static Emily, 679, Notis and The Closed; from gentle retro-pop (The Lipstik) to the warm guitar-driven compositions of Pensil to the energetic, garage rock of The Voks.

Besides discovering new music, there's an independent art carnival where you can purchase (and get inspired by) products made from our creative DIY communities. The bazaar continues into the next day, where the big show will take place. On the bill are a mix of scene veterans and upstarts. The A.C.A.B., Laila (formerly Laila's Lounge), The Splatters, Bunkface, Komplot, Love Me Butch and Skudap Skudip are barely half of the complete list of acts performing (full list available on the event's MySpace).
