Personal Effects
If a glimpse into the private lives of arts practitioners is your cup of tea, then RogueArt’s latest exhibition is worth a look. Personal Effects, which opens to the public on 30 May, gathers a loose collection of personal belongings. Exploring the different ways we look at objects, Personal Effects will encourage audiences to look at how we impose values onto them.
From artists to writers and designers to filmmakers, arts practitioners that are involved in this exhibition will be presenting and interpreting their “favourite thing” to a wider audience. Expect to find an array of valuable items (toys, furniture, vintage clothes etc.) to be on display. Featured in Personal Effects are Ahmad Fuad Osman, Ahmad Zakii Anwar, Anurendra Jegadeva, Chang Yoong Chia, Claire Wong, Hayati Mokhtar, Huzir Sulaiman, Ise, Nazim Esa, Ng Seksan, Rina Matsui, Sharaad Kuttan, Wondermilk, Wong Hoy Cheong, Yab Sau Bin, Yee I-Lann amongst others. Personal Effects hopes to reveal something about why they love the things they love. Visit www.rogueart.asia for more details.
