Releez Cafe Boutique Spa

Friday, 29/05/09 - 12:53PM Filed in Lifestyle by myra | Views: 1083 | Comments: 0

Rebecca Ooi and her old friend Leeza Kum started Releez Cafe Boutique Spa in November last year. Inspired by a spa in Australia that offers clothing alteration and salon services, they came up with the “everything under one roof” concept for Releez at spanking-new Solaris Mont Kiara. If you haven’t already noticed, Releez is a clever combination of Rebecca and Leeza’s names. Charming personal touches like this abound at Releez. The airy space feels a lot like a luxurious living room with inviting berry-coloured bucket seats and numerous magazines to help you unwind. The colour purple tastefully links the open concept cafe, boutique and spa. Alluring feminine attire and accessories line the racks, which has Rebecca travelling twice a month to procure from fashion hubs like Bangkok, Hong Kong and Korea. Their bestsellers are their well-made Moody bags and their recycled bags from Bangkok (RM65–125). The colourful eco-friendly bags are made from durable rice sacks and “if they continue to do well,” says Rebecca, “we’ll bring in the team from Bangkok to design some exclusive bags.” After shopping, the cafe beckons with fresh juices, Illy coffee, smoothies and tempting desserts (RM7–8). With a new menu coming soon, you can also enjoy savouries like pasta and mini-pizza while getting a mani-pedi. One signature hedonistic treatment at the spa is the 60-minute Royal Bloom Spa manicure (RM88). They use OPI nail polish and a relaxing eucalyptus oil blend during their treatments, which will have your skin feeling smooth and moisturised. Prices for services range from RM3 for nail art per finger to RM120 for Releez’s Royal Bloom Spa pedicure.

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
