Fest Du Mois Preview

Thursday, 30/04/09 - 11:00AM Filed in The Arts by maybritt | Views: 467 | Comments: 0

Here’s a timely aide-mémoire for all of you: Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur and the French Embassy in Malaysia are bringing you the eighth annual French Art Festival (FAF09). Happening from May 7 to May 29, if you’re the sort that delights in all things oh-so-chic and sophisticated, then this artistic and cultural Frenchie fest is for you! Before you ask “quoi de neuf?” (what’s new?), head to any one of the eight events that FAF09 has in store, from the ever-popular French Film Festival (7–17 May in GSC Pavilion, Mid-Valley, and 1 Utama), that will kick off the FAF09, to spirited performances by gypsy band Beltuner on 8 and 9 May at No Black Tie and a French play inspired by Molière on 23 and 24 May. We’ll take our artsy inclinations with a dash of French panache, s'il vous plait! If you want to find out more details on this French affair, flip to Around Town: Arts, page 98.

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
