Jamiroquai Live at Sepang F1 Preview

Tuesday, 31/03/09 - 18:43PM Filed in Music by sarah | Views: 1082 | Comments: 5

This year, the annual Malaysian Grand Prix will be held from 2 to 5 April, with the final race taking place later than ever before—5pm. Perhaps capitalising on the fact that it’ll be nightfall by the time the race ends, organisers are adding post-race festivities to the schedule for the first time ever. So when you buy that precious race ticket, you’ll get much more than speed demons and pit stop excitement. You’ll also get a performance by acid jazz/funk band Jamiroquai!

With 21 million albums sold worldwide, let's hazard a guess and say that the band has quite a big Malaysian following. Comments found on blogs and websites will back this up, with local commenters expressing excitement over Jamiroquai’s KL debut! Fronted by the one and only Jay Kay, Jamiroquai has spawned seven albums, including a greatest hits compilation that hit the number one spot in the UK album charts within a week of its release. After almost 20 years of being a band, it looks like they’ve still got what it takes.

Although it’s been four years since Dyamite, their last album, was released, Jay Kay has told the press that there's a new album dropping in 2009. With anticipation mounting over what the band could come up with next, Malaysians fans could be among the first to hear some new tracks at the upcoming concert. The performance will take place at the open field that is situated next to the circuit’s helipad. It’s an arena that fits a massive crowd of 50,000 and we’re sure with the help of F1 race spectators, this area will fill up rather easily. Organisers have also said that they’re planning to create a carnival atmosphere at the circuit, with tons of activities going on and sights to be seen. If you’re a Jamiroquai and F1 fanatic, this is the concert you’ve been waiting for.

Any of you all got rashes reaction on your feet after the concert, me and my friends and a lot more (from what i heard the pharmacy said) got the exact same rashes over our feet after the event.

Should Sepang Circuit pay responsible for this for not securing the field if it was safe to walk around when its all wet and muddy?
